About DCF – Poland

The coordination and implementation of the National Programme for fisheries data collection under the DCF has been delegated to the National Marine Fisheries Research Institute (NMFRI), formerly the Sea Fisheries Institute in Gdynia (SFI). The Institute collects biological data by sampling commercial and recreational fisheries and by conducting research surveys at sea, as well as economic data on the fishing fleet, fish processing industry and aquaculture.

Data on landings, effort and fleet characteristics of the fisheries under the Polish flag are collected by the Fisheries Monitoring Centre of the Department of Fisheries at the Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigaton.
